Welcome to February! Despite being the shortest month of the year, February often seems to last forever, with limited daylight and a lingering chill in the air. The calendar might imply that we’re nearing the end of winter, but it sure doesn’t feel that way. In fact, according to data from the National Weather Service, February is the United States’ snowiest month. If you love to ski, that’s some good news! For the rest of us, all we can envision is having to shovel the driveway. In February, we celebrate Black History Month, a time to honor the too-often-neglected accomplishments, contributions, and legacy of Black Americans throughout history. Keep an eye out for fascinating documentaries and features on channels like PBS, History, Hulu, and more. Just Google “black history month 2023 tv schedule” to find several sites that list programs and where they’re showing. Mid-month, the football fans among us will be rarin’ to go when Super Bowl LVII gets underway on February 12th. If you are getting together with friends or family to watch the game, FOOD will play a big part in the gathering. Finger foods rule the day, so check out these yummy-sounding Super Bowl Dip Recipes, which are sure to be a hit. Mid-month also includes Valentine’s Day on February 14th. For some, it will be a day of chocolates, flowers, and a romantic dinner with that special someone. For others, it might simply be a day to snuggle in and count the hours until February 15th, when all that Valentine’s candy is 75% off! February also begins the runway leading up to tax season. So, start thinking about how you’re going to file your taxes and if you’ll need to hire someone to help -- April 18th will be here before you know it. And if you’re owed a tax refund, the sooner you file, the sooner you can reinvest what’s rightfully yours! Sending you best wishes for warmth and sunshine. We’re grateful to count you as a client and look forward to helping make 2023 your best year yet! |
